Italian Lasagna: A Christmas Party for the Family

Ingredients:

1 package of fresh lasagna sheets

Béchamel (prepared with 6 tablespoons flour, 1 1/4 liters milk, 50g butter)

150g grated Parmesan cheese

Butter

For the meat sauce (RAGÚ)

250g of minced meat

1 onion

1 celery stalk

1 carrot

1 can of tomato sauce

4 tablespoons of olive oil

Butter

Salt

Pepper

Preparation: 

Start by preparing the meat sauce, cutting up the onion, celery and carrot and browning them in a pot with olive oil and a little butter. When everything is golden brown, add the meat and stir well to give it flavor. Add the tomato sauce, half a cup of water, salt and pepper and simmer with the lid on for two hours, stirring occasionally and adding more water if necessary.

Dip the lasagna sheets in boiling salted water, cook for five minutes, remove with a skimmer and let them dry on a kitchen towel.

Grease a rectangular baking dish (20×30 centimeters) with butter, place a layer of lasagna, pour in some béchamel sauce and meat sauce, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Repeat this process until all ingredients are used.

After the last layer, sprinkle generously with cheese.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about twenty minutes.
